Learn the Skills of Handmade Book Creation
Creating beautiful handmade books is an extremely satisfying process and people who have attended my workshops are amazed by what they can achieve in a short space of time. I can come to your home and run a workshop specially for you. It does take a while – around 6 hours to complete a book (allowing for some lunch!) – but I’m flexible with start times. Why not invite some friends to join you and learn together?
In one day you’ll learn how to construct a professional looking hardback book, ideal for use as an art book, journal or notebook. You need absolutely no bookbinding experience to participate and by the end of the day, you will have your own hardback book to take home. All materials are included in the cost and tools are provided for the workshop.
No previous bookbinding experience is needed. My workshops are designed for beginners and I keep groups small (min 2 max 6) to make sure everyone has as much help as they need. The cost is £60 per person. Please message me through my Contact page if you are interested. I will post details of any workshops I am planning on my facebook page.
Feedback from workshops………
Absolutely love my book. Thank you Helen so much for a really exciting and totally absorbing workshop yesterday. I loved every minute of it. Would recommend it to anyone who loves creating something beautiful. It’s a little piece of treasure. Moira, Salisbury
I just wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed your workshop yesterday. It was all I had hoped it would be and I am thrilled with my finished product. It was a hugely satisfying process. I’m already planning a trip to Shepherd’s in London to buy my bone folder, book board and some buckram! I’ve had some difficulty persuading family that I made the whole thing from scratch it looks so good. Thank you. Jane, Salisbury
Thank you so much for today, I am so pleased with my book and my grandson age 12 is going to be up tomorrow morning wanting me to make one with him. He thought it was super cool, he so wants to make a book, I rather wished I had brought him with me! Another time! Win, Evercreech
I had a really good day making my book. Everyone I’ve shown it to was impressed. Just need some free time to make some more. Jenny, Bruton
Morning Helen, thank you we had such a great day, the girls are talking about arranging another workshop fairly soon! Shirley, Salisbury
